As you prepare to find sources for your English 102 paper, take a moment to review your course instructor's directions. For example, some instructors have very specific criteria for the format (books, websites, journal articles), citation style (APA, MLA, Chicago), and currency (date when the information was produced).

Here are some good places to look:

Credo and Science Online are two good resources for background information about global warming.  You can find both online databases on the the Library's list of A - Z Databases: Facts and Encyclopedias. Oakton username and password required.

For books, connect to Oakton's library catalog and perform a subject search for "global warming"

For Articles, connect to our General (Any Subject): Articles option in the A-Z Database List. All of these databases will have articles on global warming.  Best bets for this topic include Academic Search Complete, CQ Researcher, and Opposing Viewpoints.   Oakton username and password required.

Since Global warming is just one aspect of Climate Change, you can consider broadening your search to Climate Change. However, a search for Global Warming alone is likely to retrieve a large number of articles. If you need help narrowing down your search, contact a reference librarian.
