Illinois public library cardholders can visit other public libraries throughout the state and - in many cases - check out materials on their home library card.  Public libraries generally will not accept your Oakton Library card for reciprocal borrowing privileges. If you are planning to personally visit and borrow materials from multiple public libraries, you should obtain a library card from your own local public library.  Always check ahead to see if the public library you are visiting has a reciprocal borrowing agreement with your local public library.
